A Woman of Virtue: The Heart of her Husband

Who is this man of ruined dreams
Handsome yet worn, focused yet forlorn
His shoulders a slump where there used to be strength
Head hung low, thoughts that show
His ribcage deflated from trust so mistreated
Faith turned scorn, tired and torn
Can he walk away, will her song of mischief still play
Rhythm off beat, discord, defeat
His heart can not safely trust in her

Who is this man of peace and pause
Head held high, a satisfied sigh
His shoulders bear up burdens yet she strengthens them so
Warms his heart, lights his dark
The day may bring whirlwinds, but they’re faithful and ready
Strength is together, anchored and steady
And walking away he already knows, with return she’ll be there
With her smiles, with her care
His heart doth safely trust in her

Proverbs 31:11 speaks of the virtuous woman, “The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.” Let us all be worthy of this gift of trust that we will one day provide another. There is peace and trust in virtuous love.
